Desire, Yes it is possible but where is your boyfriend;s PC physically located? If it is within the same residence, then it can be done. But before you try anything, it would be nice to educate yourself a little about networking. So, if you are using Windows XP. click on help, type "home networking" or something to that effect and print the information for later reference. After you learn some of the ins and outs of networking as well as what you will need for you friends PC and use the Windows guidelines to get your computers connected.

Hope this helps

connect the two computer with a LAN crossover cable, you should be able to get one at any computer store, or buy a router and hook both the computers to the router.
Yes.

But, it is kinda weak that your boyfriend doesn't know this stuff!

At least you know to ask...

Recommend that he get a wifi card, and simply sign onto your network. Instructions are in the box with the new wifi card.

If he is worthy, he can read the directions, and will know this stuff. Plus, he could read more, at http://yolinux.com
