HD DVD as a storage medium for Computers?

Since the HD DVD movie format seems to have gone to Bluray. How about making the HD DVD the upgrade for DVD-/+R. Is'nt recordable HD DVD discs cheaper than Bluray disc? Maybe even though I lost the movie format wars, maybe there is still a place for the format for computers as a storage medium. HDDVD Recordable drives and HDDVD disc to replace dvd-/+ Rs.

Price depends on scale. I can still remember DVD -Rs selling for $8 each in quantity.

When everyone is burning Blu-Ray disks the blanks will be selling for under $1. HDs, if you can still get them by that time (who carries 8" floppies?) will probably be at least a few bucks each.

And what benefit would using HD instead of BR give us?
