How to connect my laptop to other computers using LAN?

i want to make my laptop a server of 4 client computers in my internet cafe. I just dont know how to make a connection?. anyone can help? thanks!

Its simple, any system that will act as a server must have at least two network card, except the laptop is connecting to the internet using an external modem connected to its serial port, then you can use the network port to share the internet connection.

In that case, you connect all the system together using an ethernet switch (8 port switch will be ok). If the systems are running windows XP, then follow these step

1. Open control panel

2. Click on Network and internet connections

3. Click on network setup wizard

4. Click next twice

When the wizard give you option like:

"This computer connects directly to the internet......"

"This computer connect to the internet through a residencial gateway..........."

"Other"

5. For the laptop, choose option 1 and the complete the wizard.

6. For the other computers, run the wizard the same way but choose option 2.

After this procedure, all the computer are connected with the laptop having ip address of 192.168.0.1.
