Is it possible to connect DIRECTELY two computers just using two modems?

1) Is it possible to connect DIRECTELY two computers just using two modems



directely connected with a rj11 cable without using a phone line???



2) How can we do it using Hyper Terminal and ATA+%26lt;ENTER%26gt; on the server and ATD+%26lt;Enter%26gt; on the client in order to exchange files???



I have found many stuff on the internet...i know this works...bt plz tell me how

I would recommend a serial or parallel connection. Pretty much every computer has one of those 2 available and the speed is quit decent. By using this method you can transfer files just like you are connected to a LAN.

Your computer would be having an inbuilt Ethernet Port, you just have to use the requried cable to connect the ports of any two computers and set the required permissions for file transfer etc.
You can't use a modem without a phone line, the modem requires phone voltages and signalling to work.

2. Yes you can.. using telnet/hypertermanal if both can talk to each other (if networked).



If you just want to share/access your pc's use go to control panel and click on "Network setup Wizard" follow the instructions.(you have to share folders on both the pc's )
did you mean telnet?
