Will using the same windows xp disc on 2 different computers affect anything?

i have a MacBook laptop and i want to start Boot Camp. my mother's computer is a PC and it's Windows XP. ok so i have all the requirements for Boot Camp except for the Windows XP disc.

my question is if i use my mom's disc (Windows XP installation disc) will it hurt/affect either of our computers?

Nope. You'll be fine. It's Vista that has these issues because it has a protection in it and you need to buy Vista again if you want to use it for another computer; but since you have XP, you shouldn't have a problem.

Nope. You can legally use it on three different computers. It won't cause any problems.
Not in a million years it won't, but bare in mind that your XP licence is valid (and activated) for a SINGLE PC only!.

Edit: You can for sure install it on your macbook, but won't be able to activate the XP licence. Your mac should then only last 30-days.
i agree with answer 2.

ps: are sure that windows xp will load on your macbook laptop????
No it will not effect either computer, But remember if the windows installation disc is OEM the product key can only be used to activate windows on just the one pc, if the disc is a retail disc then this can be installed on up to 3 pcs, having said that i know of many instances where the same product key has been used on numerous pcs without any problems activating them the choice is yours.
I disagree with the other answer. I am pretty sure it is only going to work on 1 computer with that key code. It will not activate on the second. Your best bet is---go to Walmart, get a XP Home disc for 99 dollars, and use that on the second.

It is only going to work on One computer, I am very sure.
