For my wife's small business, we need to share files between two computers with broadband connections to the internet. I know that one way to do this is to set one of them up with a static IP address so that the other can connect to it; but are there any other methods, perhaps using some intermediate file-sharing server? It would need to have some security associated with it, since these are private company files we're talking about.
How can I file-share between two computers over the internet if neither of them has a static IP address?symatec
U can use http(web)/ftp with a service like www.dyndns.org, dyndns assigns a DNS to Dynamic Ip addresses... which is updated almost automticly...

If you have Windows XP Professional on both PC you may be able to connect through remote desktop . If you don't then try a software for connect through Internet like "go to my PC" or "weboffice" . You have a free trial for them so you can choose .
Check the sites and see which is good for you .
Good luck !
u could transfer stuff through yahoo msgr.
the easiest way that i can think of is to connect each computer to each other using a remote connection software, they basicaly create a tunnel thru the internet and connect to each other and give u full accesablity (depending on the security level that you specify).real vnc ,radmin, pc-anywhere ,are sum software that cud help you out
You need to keep your DHCP address from your ISP. I wrote a shell script program that basically pings my network address every hour.
