i never liked dell computers, got one and got rid of it fast...
All the Dell computers are good. I have been recommending them and helping set them up for two years.

The laptops are good, but Dell has done something a little strange. They no longer have PCMCIA slots. They are using Express Slots instead, even though no one is making Express Cards.
Over the past 10 years I have purchased Dell laptops and desktops for both work and personal use in 3 different continents (North America, Europe and Australasia). My experience in each case has been pretty much identical...

In terms of compatibility with Windows, Dell is excellent. In terms of price, Dell isn't the best deal out there, but still reasonable considering the quality of the product. In terms of after-sales support, Dell is IMO unquestionably one of the worst companies in the world. If you want a good product that works well and isn't ridiculously priced then they're pretty good, but if something breaks under warranty or if you want to update your system later on then expect them to embark upon a deliberate campaign to make your life as miserable as possible.
At least it's not a HP.
I have a Dell laptop. I bought it on Ebay for about 60% the price they were selling it on Dell's website. I'm happy with it. I know at least 3 or 4 ppl who have one just like mine. They're all happy with theirs. Except that we all hate Vista and microsoft.
