I'm trying to network (wirelessly) two computers so that I can share a printer and files...?

Both computers are already sharing the same wireless router (attached to a modem) and using the internet. One is a laptop, the other a desktop; obviously both have wireless cards. The desktop runs XP and has a printer attached via USB, the laptop runs Vista. I already downloaded %26 installed LLTR for the XP desktop. How do I get this network up? I have gotten to the point where I can "see" the Vista laptop from the XP desktop, but it gives an error message that I don't "have permission to use this network resource" and it says "the network path was not found". I can not see the XP desktop from the Vista laptop at all.

the problem with the XP not accessing the vista is the stupid user account control, and you may have to play around with the permissions on folders and files.

as for Vista not seeing XP, go into your network center in Vista, and make sure all the options are ON.

The best thing is to just do a google search on your issue.

OK a few things first....Your printer... does it have a built in print server with your modem ? does it have networking in it ? IF not you are going to need to get a wireless or wired print server. Now you also need to make sure that you give access to it on the network. most of this can be done threw your control panel and networking folders. Also make sure all fire walls and security programs are off.....Norton, Mcafee, and etc... These can mess up with it from time to time. It seems you know what you have to do. Hope it works well for you. good luck
make sure that you disable the firewalls on both workstations, this will allow you to quickly set this up. Once you do this try again.
