What are the main languages used on computers? (eg. html, short hand or 1337)?

For a school project i need to know the languages used most on computers .. by people not statistics or anything.. So would someone use html coding for a website.. more or are they more likely to go on msn and use short hand to their mates?... i hope everyone gets what i mean..

Shorthand is used to communicate, person to person.

Html is the content of a web page - it's only used for "communications" the way the silver particles in photographs are used for communications - the person being communicated with never sees the html. (Html is *not* a language.)

As far as the number of people making web sites vs. the number of people communicating by texting, I doubt you'll ever get a cogent answer.

HTML, PHP, JavaScript, Assmebly, C++.. All these are Programming languages.
