My usb memory stick won't be detected in any computers????

my 256mb usb stick worked fine in a school laptop this morning but when i went to use it on a computer it won't be detected. I have tried it on 5 different computers and it will not read. I have already checked that it has not been locked. please help as it has EXTREMELY important coursework on which is only backed up at school which i need access to over weekend!!!!! please help me or i fail my gcse coursework!!!! :(

Strange that the other computers don't have a device reader to automatically find the drivers.



If your school laptop was a MAC and it has been formatted for MAC, it won't read in a regular PC and vice versa.

Something was on the laptop that transfered to your device. Probably a virus.
Unfortunately these things do stop working. I've come across this several times now - they can last a long time, or just fail without warning.



Today you need to buy one or two replacement memory sticks and check that they work - use these on Monday. First thing Monday you need to get into school and let them know what happened. You will need to get the data off the school system and request extra time. Act quickly to prevent the data from being removed from the system.
