I can no longer network our home computers.?

My hubby and I cannot figure out the problem but hopefully someone here can send us in the right direction. There was a time our 2 computers were networked but something occurred to change this and we cant figure it out. Both our comps are win XP, one business, one home. when we try to run a repair on the network we get an error message saying the problem can not be repaired because clearing the dns cache is not completed. Also on the network icon of the XP Home machine there is a picture of a lock on one of the network lines. Any ideas? need more info? Thank You, ~Lisa~

the lock on the network line is the firewall being enables.

To clear the DNS Cache goto the command prompt and type

ipconfig /flushdns
