Hello qwerty,

If you get a school full of Dells then your school will probably need to develop a large IT department. They'd need to have tons of anti-virus software, firewalls and filters. This is what a lot of schools have needed to face once they went to Windows machines.

The schools can buy a new Mac and not have to worry too much about expenses after the fact, where you buy a cheaper Dell and the costs come afterwards. Most schools are working with a very small budget to start with.

Your graphing calculator program might not be one of the listed programs available to you on a Windows PC anyway.

Have you thought about checking out VersionTracker, or MacUpdate and finding a comparable Macintosh version of the program you like?

You have a jump on your classmates by knowing a lot of Windows, as well as Mac programs. The more that you know, the more valuable knowledge that you have. Don't just hold yourself back by your own personal bias.
